About

A practice of one,
by design.

STS is a deliberately small practice. You work directly with the person designing the system — no account managers, no rotating bench, no handoffs to junior staff.

Background

Three trades, one craft.

The work began in financial modeling — building the forecasts and waterfalls that investors and operators rely on to make decisions under uncertainty. That discipline taught a respect for clean inputs and the cost of carrying assumptions you can't trace.

From there, fractional CFO engagements across venture-backed companies, real estate sponsors, and energy infrastructure operators surfaced the same pattern: the model was rarely the bottleneck — the system feeding it was. Reconciliations, re-keying, versioned spreadsheets, and reports that disagreed on basic facts.

Application development closed the loop. Once you can build the system you wish existed — databases, integrations, internal tools — the boundary between "the finance work" and "the software that produces it" dissolves. STS was founded to practice all three together, for firms that manage portfolios and feel the friction.

The result is a single seam between finance, operations, and technology — and quiet improvements in compliance, cost, revenue, capital structure, and tax that follow from having one clear picture of the business.
